Caitlin Tucker, CEA for Tioga County
Caitlin Tucker (she/her) had considerable experience in environmental work prior to joining Smart Energy Choices. Before graduating college, she worked in outreach at Citizens Campaign for the Environment and in outdoor education at Avalon Nature Preserve. After graduating from Binghamton University with an environmental public policy degree, she joined BlocPower as a clean energy intern.
At the time, BlocPower was contracted with the City of Ithaca to help carry out its Green New Deal. But when that contract ended, Caitlin was looking for new clean energy opportunities, and she stumbled across the job opening for Community Energy Advisor (CEA). After learning more about the role, she decided to apply, and she was soon brought on as one of the Hub’s newest CEAs.
Caitlin got some insight into Smart Energy Choices when she worked at BlocPower, as she often engaged with the Hub’s workforce programs. As CEA, Caitlin is now getting a closer look at the advising side of the Hub, helping to educate residents on clean energy resources and opportunities.
“I want to use my background in environmental work to connect people with programs and resources that might not be widely known or easily accessible.”
When not working, Caitlin can usually be found outdoors spending time in nature and going on hikes or listening to music. Contact Caitlin with your energy questions at clt98@cornell.edu or 607-366-0833 ext. 0.
