Prior to joining Smart Energy Choices, Carol English (she/her) worked in workforce development for two decades, helping people find and apply for jobs across all walks of life. While she didn’t work in the environmental field at first, she always had an interest in protecting the environment for future generations. So, when colleagues started telling her about the Regional Clean Energy Hub, she decided to apply.
Now, as Community Energy Advisor, Carol helps residents navigate the often-confusing world of energy and energy assistance programs. She most enjoys helping walk folks through various application processes and is happy to answer questions all along the way.
Overall, Carol hopes her time at the Hub will help make a difference in making the world a better place for her grandchildren. She believes in the power of education and that by educating residents on energy, she can help them live more comfortably and affordably.
“I’ve always been interested in climate change, and I’ve always been interested in preserving what we have for the future generations. … Now, I’m not only just making a difference with people, but I’m also making a difference with the environment.”
When not advising, Carol can usually be found enjoying time outside. Call her with your energy questions at (607) 366-0833 x4.
